StreamNet Interactive Mapping

These StreamNet applications allow you to view fisheries information for the Pacific Northwest and Columbia Basin through an interactive map interface. These applications may be helpful in showing a graphic representation of the area you are interested in, making your own maps, or accessing StreamNet data by the geographic features that they are related to.

Note: while these applications work on most modern browsers, including Firefox, Internet Explorer (versions 4 and higher), and Netscape Navigator (versions 4.6 and higher), users do need to allow pop-up windows from our server at map.streamnet.org in order for all viewer functions to work properly. Northwest Critical Habitat Mapper
View the final critical habitat designations for 12 Evolutionarily Significant Units (ESUs) of Pacific salmon and steelhead (Oncorhyncus mykiss) in NOAA Fisheries' Northwest Region. For more information on the final rule (released August 12, 2005) please visit NOAA's Critical Habitat Website.

Pacific Northwest Mapper
View fish distribution data and query the StreamNet database by selecting map elements (streams, hatchery facilities, etc.). Includes USGS 3rd and 4th field Hydrologic Units (HUCs).

Columbia Subbasin Mapper
Similar to the viewer above, but organized by the NW Power Planning Council provinces and subbasins, which are currently being used for Subbasin Planning.

Protected Areas Mapper
View and query the 1988 Protected Areas database through a simple interactive map interface. The Proteced Areas are stream reaches that are designated as protected from hydroelectric development.
